| | The Calusa Herpetological Society
         Of Southwest Florida | |
Thursday, September 3, 2009 - 7:00 pm
 SPEAKER
 & TOPIC :
 SNAKES
of FLORIDA will be the topic tonight as
 Paul Allen
presents a PowerPoint slideshow on his experiences with our native serpents.
Paul self-describes himself as “a baker by trade, but a herper at
heart”.  He spent many decades in
the field dating back to his days catching and selling snakes to Bill Haast and
Ross Allen.  He is retired now, but
still enjoys getting out photographing snakes, mostly near his home in Collier
County.  The majority of his imagery
was taken personally during the last few years after he turned to digital
photography after a lifetime shooting slides.
Paul will also bring an example or two of his art printed on canvas for
the viewing pleasure of the crowd.
