SPEAKER & TOPIC :  SNAKES of FLORIDA will be the topic tonight as Paul Allen presents a PowerPoint slideshow on his experiences with our native serpents.  Paul self-describes himself as “a baker by trade, but a herper at heart”.  He spent many decades in the field dating back to his days catching and selling snakes to Bill Haast and Ross Allen.  He is retired now, but still enjoys getting out photographing snakes, mostly near his home in Collier County.  The majority of his imagery was taken personally during the last few years after he turned to digital photography after a lifetime shooting slides.  Paul will also bring an example or two of his art printed on canvas for the viewing pleasure of the crowd.

WHO'S INVITED ? You are! Anyone with an interest in any aspect of herpetology or herpetoculture is welcome to attend, learn, and exchange their experiences with our friendly membership. Come out to meet others who keep, breed or study reptiles and amphibians, and let them share their fascination with you. We average 35 – 70 people attending every meeting.

Cookies and cold soda, a nightly raffle of live herps, herp products, and books follow each speaker's talk, and lots of herp camaraderie, gossip, and fun can be counted upon at all meetings !
