SPEAKER & TOPIC: This month's virtual speaker is Joel Gales. He is an avid herp enthusiast and longtime member and friend of the Calusa Herpetological Society. Joel, a previous regular attendee of our meetings, moved to Wisconsin several years ago and will be joining us through Zoom to talk about Kankakee County, Illinois bullsnakes (Pituophis catenifer sayi). 

   This disjunct population of bullsnakes in northeastern Illinois (and the northwestern Indiana) is the furthest eastern distribution of the subspecies. They are known for being very dark blotches and are very popular among Pituophis enthusiasts..

WHO'S INVITED ? You are! Anyone with an interest in any aspect of herpetology or herpetoculture is welcome to attend, learn, and exchange their experiences with our friendly membership. Come out to meet others who keep, breed or study reptiles and amphibians, and let them share their fascination with you. We average 35 – 70 people attending every meeting.

Cookies and cold soda, a nightly raffle of live herps, herp products, and books follow each speaker's talk, and lots of herp camaraderie, gossip, and fun can be counted upon at all meetings !
