SPEAKER & TOPIC: Tonight's speaker is Dr. Sean Doody, an Assistant Professor in biology at USF - St. Petersburg.  The title of his talk is "The Thorny Devil made me do it; 20 Years in the Australian Tropics (1996 - 2015)".  

  For 20 years Sean has been working in Australia with a variety of herps, including Fly River turtles, a variety of monitor lizard species, freshwater crocodiles, and the ubiquitous cane toad. Tonight Sean will share the highlights of his research, as well as some great stories from the field. At USF, his main research is in conservation biology and behavioral ecology, including invasive species impacts. He mostly conducts research on reptiles but also amphibians, birds, and mammals. He has conducted research in the U.S., Australia and Madagascar.

WHO'S INVITED ? You are! Anyone with an interest in any aspect of herpetology or herpetoculture is welcome to attend, learn, and exchange their experiences with our friendly membership. Come out to meet others who keep, breed or study reptiles and amphibians, and let them share their fascination with you. We average 15 – 35 people attending every meeting.

 After the meeting we go to dinner at Sidelines Bar & Grill on the corner of Colonial and Veronica Shoemaker Blvd. We will be in the back room. This is the same building as the old R.J. Gators where the club, for many years,  would have dinner after the meeting.
