SPEAKER & TOPIC: Tonight's speaker is Daniel Parker, a biologist with University of Central Florida (UCF) and DRMP. He is also the owner of Sunshine Serpents (www.sunshineserpents.com). Through his company, he guides reptile-themed eco-tours, gives educational presentations, photographs herps, assists with TV and film production, and breeds captive reptiles. Parker's photographs have appeared in Reptiles, Reptilia, and Herp nation magazines, as well as numerous publications world wide. His biological interestshave involved diverse species that include eastern indigo snakes, gopher tortoises, sand skinks, Florida black bears, and many established exotics, such as Burmese pythons. Parker hopes that his work has helped to promote an increased understanding of Florida's natural environment and the wildlife that lives there.

The title of his talk is "Herps and Environmental Surveys". This presentation will cover his work with reptiles and other wildlife as an environmental surveyer and consultant in Florida and beyone. This work has included digging up gopher tortoise burrows, scoping their burrows, searching for eastern indigo snakes, and at times even chasing burrowing owls across pastures in wild areas slated for construction and development.

Don't miss out on a great presentation!!   See you there!
