Madagascar/TSA Radiated Tortoise Release
 This
 month's speaker is Brett Bartek. Brett will
 be speaking about his recent trip to Madagascar with the Turtle Survival
 Alliance where he helped facilitate the release of
 ~1000 radiated tortoises (Astrochelys radiata) back into the wild.
 Brett Bartek has been involved with the turtle survival alliance for
 almost 10 years now while contributing with projects in Texas, Florida, Belize,
 and India. He recently had the opportunity to assist the Turtle Survival
 Alliance with the largest reintroduction of radiated tortoises in Madagascar. While
 there he helped train TSA (Turtle Survival Alliance) staff members to
 use radio telemetry to track the released tortoises around the spiny forests of
 southern Madagascar. Brett's talk will also include photos and stories about
 the numerous animals that he encountered while there.
 
 After
 the meeting, you are invited to join us at a nearby restaurant (announced at
 the meeting) for more herp discussions and camaraderie over food and drinks.
